Year 4 Netball V St. Hilda’s- Tuesday 9th November 2022

Posted: 9th November 2022

The Year 4 girls were visibly excited whilst preparing to travel to St. Hilda’s for their netball match this week, and some were actually jumping up and down as the anticipation grew! A torrential down pour did nothing to dampen their spirits and they quickly adapted to playing in an indoor game without batting an eyelid.

The “A Team” were quick to get off the mark and set a positive tone for the rest of the game, well done to the goal scorers Evie and Sofia who looked confident and clinical when taking their shots. Despite playing a strong opposition, the rapid passing, tight marking and decisive dodges from the Reddiford girls, meant that we could not have asked for more! There were many contenders, but Anisa was nominated as the player of the match for her efforts in linking up the play between the defenders and attackers.

The “B Team” closely observed their counterparts in action to help them to prepare and took on board the team tactics brilliantly. With several debutants in the team, the girls really benefitted from the way that Sanvi and Aleah shared their experience and led by example in scoring four goals between them. Despite being very closely marked, Aleah even scored from the very far reaches of the semi-circle, leading her to be nominated as the player of the match. The game was very closely contested and became synonymous with thrilling end to end action!

Thank you to all of our supporters who created a fantastic buzz in the hall to spur the children on to another wonderful performance! We also enjoyed hearing the positive feedback about how much the children and parents enjoyed the occasion.
