Junior Mathematical Challenge (JMC)

Posted: 19th May 2025

Reddiford enjoyed another excellent set of results in this year’s Junior Mathematical Challenge (JMC).  The JMC is a national competition aimed at Year 7 and Year 8 mathematicians. All of our Year 6 children took part in this competition, with more than two-thirds (twenty-seven out of the forty children) earning a Bronze, Silver or Gold Award. For some context, those awards are given only to the top 50% of entrants – so our Year 6 children have done exceptionally well and are well placed to tackle the challenges of Year 7 and Year 8 mathematics in the years to come!

Eight children earned a Bronze award, nine children earned a Silver award, with Harisiyan, Aathanaa, Aarav, Aarya, Rayan, Aadit, Ronan, Tanaya, Aleah and Mihir all excelling, earning a Gold award for their efforts.

This is a fantastic reward for their hard work this year – all of the children did exceptionally well (it is a particularly challenging paper) and we are tremendously proud of them all. Our thanks to their teachers who have prepared them year on year to reach such a fantastically high standard and the parents who have supported them and the School on their journey at Reddiford.

Well done, Year 6!
