Ballet
Children may take classes from the age of three years old and at this stage the pupils, led by the teacher, are encouraged to respond to music and nuture their creativity and imagination. They progress through the structured syllabus of the Royal Academy of Dance and are entered for examinations when they reach the required standard (the taking of examinations is, of course, always optional). The older students may be invited to attend a pointe-work class.
