Reception Classes trip to Butterfly World
The Reception classes visited Butterfly World in St Albans on Friday 18th June. When we arrived we met Rachel, who gave everyone a magnifying glass, and then took us into a fascinating room! It was full of eggs, caterpillars and butterflies. The children had great fun looking at the patterns on the butterflies in detail. She then showed us a stick insect. Those of us who were very brave even got to hold it! We looked at some caterpillars and butterflies that had just emerged out of their chrysalis in the butterfly breeding house. Rachel then took us into the Butterfly house where we were able to see them flying around and feeding. One large butterfly even landed on Ikenna’s trousers! After a very relaxed lunch we had lots of fun exploring the beautiful designer gardens and walks that had fantastic flowers to look at. We even took a picture in a giant flower pot. Everyone had a fabulous day in a lovely place!
