The Year 6 children had a fun and inspiring morning meeting a variety of science professionals. These included a podiatrist, medical inventor, pharmacist, optician, medical development scientist from GSK, doctor, environmental scientist from Veolia Water, veterninary nurse and our special guest, Toby the Tortoise!

Using their journalistic skills, the children interviewed these professionals about their childhood interests, education, daily work routine and responibilities. Working collaboratively in groups, they then created highly entertaining presentations to share with the rest of the year group and staff.

Everyone had an enjoyable morning and all of the visitors were impressed with he children's insightful questions and creative presentation skills. Thanks to the visitors support, I am sure that many of the Year 6 children will now be encouraged to enter into science based careers!
