Year 4 visit to Holdenby House Once again our Year 4 group spent another enjoyable day as a Tudor at Holdenby House in Northampton, where they turned back the clock over five hundred years to learn what life was like as a Tudor living in Elizabethan times. The pupils enjoyed a new activity called 'Pike Drill' where they were taught the skills of using a long pike to march into battle to fight the Spanish!!! (our enemy at the time). The pupils also learned Tudor cookery and what the rich and poor people ate. During the day the pupils were taught to make pomanders and soap bags, very useful items living in the rather smelly Tudor London! Once again a big thank you to the parents who made and provided the Tudor costumes to make this day an unforgettable one for the children. Mrs J Foley, Year 4 Teacher
