Science Week The week started with a cross curricular day in which all other subjects linked their lessons with science.
There were several visitors to the school that week. The Big Bug Show gave the children the chance to handle various bugs and insects and they enjoyed learning about their diet and habitat.
The children also had the opportunity to see an Eagle, Barn Owl, Harris Hawk and Falcon at close quarters. There was also a visit from the Astronomy Road Show where the children could go inside the star dome and learnt about day and night and shadows.
The younger children learnt about healthy eating and had great fun making up their own healthy lunch boxes with sandwiches and a smoothie.
The week culminated with a science fair for pupils and their parents which was a huge success. The children had the opportunity to tackle various simple experiments, some of which were delightfully messy. On the last day there was also a non-uniform day where the children were asked to dress in a science theme.
